Thanks for the Inspiration Julie Powell

Thursday afternoon and I'm freezing my ass off in apartment that is too big to be so cheap and too old to be fashionably fitted with proper insulation. I won't pretend that this latest endeavor is original at all; like any artist I'm stealing my idea from those around me. I started this blog over a year ago and posted part of what I could only describe as my artistic genius for all the world to see. Well guess what there's a lot of genius out there, and its a fair bit better than mine. Last night though a movie got me thinking; you can't write something like a blog hoping people will read it. you have to write it for yourself. The movie was Julie and Julia, where in Julie Powell a virtual nobody from Queens decided to cook her way through Mastering the Art of French Cooking by Julia Child and blog about her experience. I thought wow, what an idea. I identified a lot with poor Julie Powell, nearing thirty, in a job that didn't quite fit, and also could relate to the mountain of things I was starting, but never finishing.
So....this is where my blog goes from now on. #1 Find a purpose. #2 Set a goal. #3 Write diligently. #4 maybe learn somehow to write along the way. #5 Finish something that I start. I don't know what I'll blog about exactly only that it will be what I know. I have always said after all real life is much stranger than fiction.
P.S. If this blog ever does develop a readership please understand that I'm an artist, sort of anyways, and not a writer, and I will do my best to keep in check the boundless literary mistakes I am destined to make. So if you fancy yourself the novice editor bare with me and be kind.
